You’re Not Stuck — You’re Just In Between

Real Change Starts Long Before It Looks Like Change

Why your shift might already be in motion—even if it doesn’t “look” like it yet.

I used to think change happened the moment you made a decision. You decide to stop doing something (or start something new), and boom—you’ve changed.

But it’s never that clean, is it?

Honestly, I’m a bit thick-headed when it comes to change. I tend to learn my lessons the hard way, dragging my feet even when I know something isn’t working. One of my rule-of-thumbs over the years has been this: if I hear something twice in the same week—from different people, podcasts, books, or clients—I take it as a sign the universe (or my intuition) is tapping me on the shoulder. It means I need to pause and really pay attention. That’s usually when I realize: change has already started. Quietly. Under the surface.

Recently, I came across a visual that perfectly captured what I’ve been feeling and witnessing in myself and my clients for years. It mapped out the real process of change—how it starts small and internal before it ever shows up on the outside.

It goes something like this:

  • An idea. A spark. A gut whisper. A restless thought like, “I can’t keep doing this”

  • Thoughts begin to shift. You start imagining different outcomes. Questioning your “shoulds”

  • Feelings rise. Excitement. Resistance. Fear. Hope. Sometimes grief. Sometimes joy. All signs that your soul is stirring

  • You sketch a plan. Nothing rigid. Just a loose outline of what could be possible

  • Then come the habits. Repeating new actions. Failing. Trying again. These small steps start building momentum

  • Commitment kicks in. You stop dabbling and begin choosing differently on purpose

  • Your lifestyle shifts. You feel it in your routines, your relationships, your energy

  • And finally... change. Real, rooted, sustainable change

In my Energy Audit Workshop, we walk through these layers in real-time. It’s not about pushing or forcing your way into a better version of you. It’s about getting clear on what’s draining your energy, what lights you up, and what stage of change you’re actually in—because sometimes you’re not stuck, you’re just in between.

✨ Journal Prompts:

  1. What stage of change am I currently in with something I care deeply about?

  2. What would it look like to be curious—not critical—about the pace I’m moving?

Change isn’t a single choice. It’s a series of small shifts. Some days you feel it. Some days you don’t. But every stage matters. Every step counts. If this resonates, I’d love to have you in the next round of my workshop.

Sometimes, we just need a little space to hear ourselves think—and a little guidance to keep going.

You don’t have to do it all at once. You just have to begin.
