84% of People Have Never Used AI. So Why Does LinkedIn Feel Like a Crisis?

My LinkedIn feed is flooded with AI content every single day. And I finally figured out what it reminds me of.

The mommy wars.

Stay home or go back to work. Be present or be ambitious. Either way, you were doing it wrong. Either way, someone had a take on whether you were enough.

Now it's this: ignore AI and you're falling behind. Embrace it and you're cutting corners, faking your work, not doing things the "real" way.

Same energy. Different battleground.

And caught in the middle is someone who already has seventeen tabs open in her brain before 9am. Who is already behind on three decisions she hasn't made yet. Who is already questioning whether she's keeping up, doing enough, thinking clearly enough to even know what to do next.

Now she's supposed to add "figure out my relationship with AI" to that list.

She doesn't need another thing to feel wrong about. She needs a little quiet. And a next step she can actually see.

Here's what the actual data shows.

84% of people on this planet have never used AI. Not once.

🟩 1.3 billion are on a free chatbot, occasionally. 🟧 15 to 35 million pay for it monthly. 🟥 2 to 5 million are actively building with it.

That's the whole "AI is everywhere" crowd.

So if you opened a tool this week, even once, even awkwardly — you are not behind. You are carrying too much noise about something that does not have to be this loud.

You are not behind. You are carrying too much. The next right step does not require you to win the AI debate first.

I'm Noelle. The Mental Tabs Coach.
